In 1961, my parents travelled to Ios for the first time.
They fell in love with the strong energy of the island, in search of beauty and peace. They began to build their life project.
My father was a photographer, art director, graphic designer and gallery owner (Camera Work, Berlin).
The year he died, he dedicated a book to the people of Ios: "A Journey to Ios". Three years ago, I asked the mayor of Ios if I could organise a temporary exhibition of the original prints. Prints on Brovira paper that he made in his own darkroom. The mayor replied that he had another idea: "The municipality has inherited a very ancient house in Chora, Varinos house. And he would like to set up a museum there for the original prints to exhibit them permanently."
